Fondest memories, Jerry. I shall never forget your smile, your wit and your great sense of humour.

I vividly remember the parties and get-togethers we enjoyed in Cologne generally including Ian Morrison, Anita Mallinckrodt and Marlene Benesch. And I shall never forget our meeting in Berlin in the late seventies when we were queueing up at Checkpoint Charlie and you suddenly discovered that you were wearing two different shoes - a black one and a brown one - thus bewildering a highly conscientious "Volkspolizistin". You explained that at home you had another pair exactly like this one... In the end we all burst into laughter, unusual at that place and time...

You will not be forgotten, Jerry. Rest in peace.
